The Great Mother A Story of Love and Sacrifice

The Great Mother day

There was a truly outstanding woman who lived in the busy world we all know today. She wasn’t like the superpowered, cape-wearing heroines you see in movies. No, her strength came from something far more precious and deeper. She was a mother.

This remarkable woman played a variety of characters from the break of dawn till the dead of night. She was a daughter first. Even when her parents were unable to recall her name, she showed them love and kindness by taking care of them.

Then she married as the sun rose higher in the sky. Her husband could always find peace and encouragement in her warm and loving home.

She was a sister in the middle of the day, supporting her siblings through good times and bad, and sharing both laughs and tears.
She started working as a teacher in the afternoon. She helped young minds explore the world’s treasures by guiding them with passion and compassion.

At the end of the day, though, her greatest contribution was when she fulfilled her position as a mother. She devoted her entire being to raising her kids, providing them with the support and affection they required to develop into good, self-assured adults, with each embrace and kiss.
She went above and above even after a demanding day. She put on a new hat and entered the workforce, utilizing her abilities to support her family and change the world.

Through it all, this incredible mom showed strength, love, and endless determination. She faced challenges with grace and never stopped believing in the power of love to overcome any obstacle.

This is dedicated to all mothers worldwide, the everyday heroes that brighten the world with their smiles, hugs, and selfless deeds. You deserve all the love and gratitude in the world because you are genuinely great.
This amazing mother would take a minute for herself during the peaceful hours of the night, when everything finally slowed down and the stars filled the sky with their soft glow. She would consider the successes and difficulties of the day, her eyes heavy with fatigue but her heart full of love.

At times, tears would appear in her eyes as she relived the times, she felt weak and that she could have done better. But then she would remember her children’s smiles and the warmth of their embraces and the sound of their laughter resonating through her house like a beacon shining through the night.

She realized at that time that every hardship, late night, and bit of work had been worthwhile. Because she saw the purest kind of love—unwavering, unconditional, and limitless—reflected back at her from her children.

So, knowing that tomorrow would bring fresh challenges, joys, and opportunities to demonstrate to her children how much they meant to her, she would lay her head to bed with renewed purpose.
She was more than just a mother. She was a force of nature, an icon of hope in an often gloomy and unknowable world. She was unstoppable in her love, and she was a true hero.

So here’s to the incredible moms who grace our lives with their presence, who give so much of themselves without ever asking for anything in return. You are the heart and soul of our families, the glue that holds us together, and the reason we believe in the power of love to conquer all. Thank you for everything you do, today and every day. You are truly, deeply loved.

The home was shaking with the promise of a new day as the first rays of dawn came through the curtains. The mother got out of bed, exhausted but determined to take on the tasks that lied ahead. She started another day of her wonderful action with love in her heart and a silent prayer on her lips.

With a calm strength that came from love and commitment, she went about her morning ritual, doing the things she always did. She took good care of her family, making sure they all felt loved and appreciated. She put her everything into everything she did, whether it was making breakfast while singing or carefully wrapping lunches, knowing that every tiny action said volumes about her steadfast devotion to the people she loved.

She handled all of her responsibilities with elegance and composure throughout the day, never wavering in her resolve to be the greatest wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and professional woman she could be. She confronted obstacles head-on, using her limitless reservoirs of fortitude and resiliency to get beyond whatever was in her path.

And she found comfort in the quiet times of thinking as the day came to an end and the stars appeared overhead. She was in awe of the lovely life she had built, one that was full of love, joy, and limitless opportunities. She also addressed the future with steadfast love and hope, even though she understood that tomorrow will bring its own set of difficulties.

Because she understood that no matter what the world threw at her, she would always be supported by her family’s love, her spirit’s power, and the knowledge that she was improving the lives of the people she loved most.

And so, as she drifted off to sleep, she whispered a silent thank you to the universe for the blessing of motherhood, for the opportunity to love and be loved, and for the privilege of being a superhero in the eyes of those who mattered most.

She was more than a mother, after all. She was a bright example of the amazing power of a mother’s love, a source of inspiration and hope, and a beacon of love and light. Even though her path was far from done, she was confident that she could overcome anything as long as she had strength and love in her soul.

She closed her eyes and fell asleep, ready to face whatever the day ahead may bring, with a smile on her lips and love in her heart. She could do anything because she was a mother.

The mother was engulfed in a silent period of introspection as the night grew darker and the outside world grew quieter. In the faint light of a single lamp, she sat by alone. The light came, creating shadows that like memories dancing in the recesses of her mind.

Her mind went to the countless moments that had stitched together her life’s fabric during the quiet; the hugs given and received at happy and sad times alike, the tears cried at heartbreak, and the laughter shared at the dinner table. Every memory served as a priceless thread, tying her to the people she loved and serving as a constant reminder of the complexity and beauty of the human condition.

There were, however, inconsistencies and moments of doubt within the mixed up of memories. She wondered if her love had really made a difference in the lives of those she loved, if she had done enough, if she had been enough.

When she was doubting herself, she resorted to the one thing she was certain of: the unwavering love that pounded in her heart—a love so strong and endless that it could break the seas and move mountains. She had experienced the darkest evenings and stormiest days thanks to this love, which had also seen her through every test.

And she let that love to wash over her like a warm hug as she sat by herself in the quiet of the night, bringing her a sense of satisfaction and serenity. She understood that her family’s love would always be there to support, console, and pick her up when she faltered and fell, regardless of what lay ahead or where life’s path may take her.

So, knowing that tomorrow would bring new difficulties, new joys, and new opportunities to love and be loved, she closed her eyes and gave herself over to the embrace of sleep with a thankful heart and a renewed sense of purpose.

She found the strength to be everything she needed to be and more in her love because she was a mother. She also faced the long and twisting road ahead with bravery and strength, knowing that she would never be truly alone.

She fell asleep as the night gave way to the first rays of morning, her dreams full with images of laughter and love, happiness and hope, and the promise of an impossibly bright tomorrow. She was a mother, and through her love, she discovered the ability to shift everything, one heartbeat at a time, and move mountains.

How SAP S/4HANA Makes Sourcing & Procurement Processes More Intelligent

SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement

SAP’s current vision and mission is to help organizations become “intelligent enterprises” with its Business Suite SAP S/4HANA. Digitalization also opens up new options and changes purchasing processes. “Toronto Innovation College” training with a SAP S/4HANA expert reports from its own consulting practice how it is possible to better design and further automate the procurement process with S/4HANA; how real-time data, analyses, and simulations can be used; and what the intuitive Fiori interface truly offers when it comes to simple, mobile use.

What are purchasing departments currently focusing on with digitalization?

True, in many purchasing departments, our customers continue to use totally analog methods. There is still a lot of printing and faxing going on every day. Classic approval processes require signatures. Companies, on the other hand, want to take the next step toward digitization by switching to SAP S/4HANA. Several variables contribute to this development. On the one hand, there are more stringent compliance procedures, both internally and externally. clients are demanding more open audit processes from manufacturers, and producers must respond in order to continue servicing clients in their industries, whether they are in the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries, or as automotive suppliers. A traceable dual control approach for approval processes, for example, is important in this context. Other essential topics include supplier assessment and clear, traceable reference source location, which should be feasible to handle while on the road. All of these topics are driving company digitalization and playing a role in the transition to S/4HANA.

Where precisely does S/4HANA come into play?

Many medium-sized businesses that are still using SAP ECC systems manage their purchasing activities on-premise. Thus, the new S/4HANA system becomes the digital core and technological foundation for digital change at these firms, and it has a significant impact on how they handle procurement operations. New functionalities made available by the S/4 system, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence; subjects including electronic inbound invoice processing, contract monitoring, and transparent inventory overview; Stock in transit for intercompany business will become increasingly significant. SAP has some interesting aspects on its development roadmap, and the intelligent features in S/4HANA will be greatly expanded. And we’re not talking about years of development here, but rather modifications that will most likely appear in future releases over the next twelve to eighteen months.

Where can S/4HANA provide benefits as compared to SAP ECC?

On the one hand, the technological foundation of S/4HANA is a substantially higher-performance HANA database running beneath the application layer. This can provide the user with far more detailed and accurate information in real time at the click of a button. Of course, firms want to exploit this extensively and be able to entirely overhaul their processes. In contrast, the SAP ECC system takes a pull strategy. This means that the user must actively look for and extract data from the ECC system. He logs into the system, picks a function, and provides various He selects parameters, executes the function, and then receives information from which he can conclude that there is a specific emergency problem at his organization to which he must respond promptly. We can convert this pull method into a push approach by taking advantage of the Fiori features and the HANA database’s capabilities. The SAP S/4 system may immediately alert users to crucial situations using events, analytical dashboards, and relevant Fiori tiles, sometimes known as live tiles. As a result, the user no longer needs to search the system; instead, the system notifies him directly, allowing him to respond accordingly. Another advantage of the Fiori approach against the old ECC environment is much increased collaboration. When it comes to data transmission within the firm, whether between departments or among personnel.

What is the typical content of projects that are companies implementing in this sector?

Supplier assessment is a hot topic among our food sector customers. Customers want to be able to demonstrate, at the click of a button and in real time, that they have control over their whole supply chain down to the supplier. The S/4 system has a number of intriguing visual elements.

Another significant aspect of procurement is the approval process. Today, as previously said, these are typically still analog. Our customers want to digitize and mobilize these procedures as they transition to S/4. This mobile feature of the ECC system was generally only possible with the assistance of third-party software. With S/4HANA and Fiori, we have a high-performance tool that allows us to meet these needs much more effectively because Fiori includes them out of the box.

In addition, our consumers are concerned about cost concerns. We can now assess the price-performance ratio for suppliers considerably faster and more easily than we could with the ECC system, thanks to enhanced visualization capabilities in Fiori apps. Quality and pricing are instantly put into perspective, which can now be graphically displayed extremely well. As a result, the purchaser may quickly determine which provider is most suited to his procurement procedure.

Finally, our customers want to maintain their inventories as low as feasible. Purchasers have far more efficient tools than they did under ECC, thanks to real-time inventory monitoring capabilities. Furthermore, new capabilities are being introduced, such as

contract monitoring, which monitors when a contract ends. This makes it easier to secure cost-effective suppliers in the long run using S/4HANA.

What recommendations can you make for optimizing purchasing processes?

Recommendation 1:

In general, you should leverage the transition from ECC to S/4HANA to verify processes that have been in place at the organization for years. Specifically in purchasing, we regularly encounter undigitized flows in the process. That is precisely the time to break away and orient processes toward the future in order to fully realize S/4’s optimization potential.

Recommendation 2:

Bring on an expert partner with S/4 experience. You should not ignore the fact that S/4HANA is new software; some of the proven capabilities from the ECC world remain, but SAP is innovating quickly. One innovation release succeeds another, and new features arrive on a quarterly basis, making it difficult for businesses to stay on top of things and detect and use the features that are relevant to them. As a result, it is prudent to seek for a partner who is constantly working with S/4HANA. Specifically, in purchasing, the new, modern interfaces provide considerable possibilities that can typically only be fully realized by experts.

Recommendation 3:

Pay attention to a lean, transparent approach to introducing S/4HANA initiatives. From our perspective, traditional blueprint projects using a waterfall technique are simply out of date. They’re also time-consuming and costly. Meanwhile, we’ve created strategies for handling such jobs more efficiently. That benefits both consumers and consultants, as project progress can always be transparently tracked.

SAP S/4HANA for central procurement overview

SAP S/4HANA for central procurement, what it’s all about?

The Procurement line of business in larger companies is organized mostly either globally or structured in divisions and channels, responsible for regions, countries and locations. They manage the spend processes often in distributed procurement landscapes with numerous ERP back-end systems.

Procurement is particularly impacted by this lack of centralization to improve and automate scale and volume in order to save costs and process more efficient.

SAP S/4HANA for central procurement provides a unified interconnection Hub, that allow procurement teams to work as a shared service across multiple ERP systems of global organizations, divisions, and channels.

It delivers the benefits of a centralized procurement system without requiring a massive shift of already established local procure to pay process flows. It operates across such buying channels without the need to rework them.

SAP S/4HANA for central procurement, solution overview

SAP S/4HANA for central procurement delivers company-wide visibility based on roles and permissions across a company’s ERP landscape. Lead buyers can access contracts, requisitions, orders, status and spending across the company.

Usually a purchaser works in one or multiple SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA back-end systems. With central procurement, they can use a single SAP S/4HANA system to monitor, process and analyze the relevant documents centrally.

A strategic purchaser or commodity manager is able to structure global contracts hierarchically and to distribute them into local sources of supply in terms of outline or scheduling agreements.

The solution covers the following business scenarios:

  • Central Requisitioning (2FI)

  • Central Sourcing (3ZF)

  • Central Purchase Contracts (2ME)

  • Central Purchasing (2XT)

  • Central Purchasing Analytics (1JI, 2ME, 2XT)

  • Guided Buying for Central Procurement with SAP Ariba Buying (3EN)

Practice Question Answers and Explanations

Question 1

Correct answers: ABC

For new SAP software implementations (greenfield) on SAP HANA, SAP recommends using the Quick Sizer tool. For migrations of SAP NetWeaver-based applications, there are specific sizing reports (SAP Notes) depending on whether you’re interested in SAP BW on SAP HANA, SAP Business Suite on SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, or other applications. Any system that is large or complex requires sizing from an SAP sizing expert.

Answers D and E: these are standard brownfield sizing scenarios addressed in the respective SAP Notes.

Question 2

Correct answer: A

The SAP-certified SAP HANA hardware directory is shown in the figure below. Answer B is incorrect because the PAM contains a link to the hardware directory but doesn’t provide information about certified and supported appliances. Answer C is incorrect because the SAP ONE Support Launchpad contains information about SAP software but not about SAP-certified hardware. Answer D is incorrect because you might find information about SAP-certified appliances listed on the websites of SAP hardware partners, but this isn’t a centrally listed directory.

Question 3

Correct answers: CD

There are three different versions of the Quick Sizer tool. The version for SAP HANA only contains templates for SAP applications running on SAP HANA, including both the “powered by HANA” releases and the “/4HANA,” but not cloud-based editions or for generic (AnyDB) sizing for products such as SAP NetWeaver.

Answer A is incorrect because the Quick Sizer tool for SAP HANA can’t be used to size SAP S/4HANA Cloud. For this, use the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Quick Sizer. Answer B is incorrect because there is no sizing tool for SAP NetWeaver (product family) or SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP (application server), but there are Quick Sizers for SAP NetWeaver-based applications such as SAP Business Suite both when powered by SAP HANA or when running on AnyDB.

Question 4

Correct answer: B

SAP HANA appliances are standardized offerings and can’t be mapped to business requirements in an iterative approach. However, even with appliances, sizing is needed to select the right appliance for the workload.

Answer A is incorrect because the hardware partner doesn’t perform sizing for the appliance as the business requirements aren’t known. Answer C is incorrect because the appliance is preconfigure but does need to be sized for the workload. Answer D is incorrect because you can use the Quick Sizer tool for both appliance and TDI configurations. The Quick Sizer tool is typically used in new implementations (greenfield), whereas for SAP application migration projects (brownfield), different SAP Notes with specific SQL scripts attached are used.

Question 5

Correct answers: BD

Brownfield implementations refer to migration projects of existing SAP applications from AnyDB to SAP HANA. For standard scenarios, such as migrating SAP BW to SAP BW/4HANA, there are specific SAP Notes that detail the actions to perform. Additional information can be found in the sizing guides listed on the SAP Help Portal under “SAP In-Memory Computing Sizing Guidelines.”

For new installations, also known as greenfield projects, you use the Quick Sizer tool for SAP HANA.

Complex migration projects typically require expert sizing, but this isn’t a requirement per se for brownfield implementations.

The SAP HANA sizing decision tree shows the different sizing approaches for greenfield and migration sizings with guidance on which SAP Note to use.

Question 6

Correct answer: A

This formula is documented in the SAP HANA In-Memory Database Sizing Guideline (PDF) document attached to SAP Note 1514966 Sizing SAP In-Memory Database.

Answers B and C are incorrect because there is no sizing report for generic applications, and there is no Quick Sizer tool for AnyDB.

Question 7

Correct answer: A

Recommendation from SAP Note 1514966 (see the “Greenfield, Brownfield, and Expert Sizing” section).

Answer B is incorrect because, in practice, storage throughput in IOPS may provide a more important storage requirement than the actual disk space. However, the question asked about disk space requirements. Answer C is incorrect because the rule of thumb of three times RAM provides a rough calculation for the space requirements of an SAP HANA appliance as this also allows for backups and memory dumps (exports) on the same volume. For production systems, only database data files should be stored on the data volume.

Exam Tip: Formulas provide great material for exam questions. SAP Note 1514966 dates from 2013 when the TDI program was launched and may no longer be used all that much for actual sizing projects.

Question 8

Correct answer: C

Although all listed technologies impact memory sizing indirectly by reducing the amount of memory required to store the tables, only persistent memory (PMEM) does so directly as reflected in a dedicated note. As mentioned in SAP Note 2786237 – Sizing SAP HANA with Persistent Memory, expert sizing is strongly recommended when implementing PMEM.

SAP HANA smart data access (SDA) uses linked databases, virtual tables, and query federation to access remote data as if it’s stored locally, without data copy (only metadata is stored). SDA was introduced with SAP HANA 1.0 SPS 06.

SAP HANA dynamic tiering is an optional component that extends the in-memory database with a disk-based columnar store. In the temperature analogy, hot data is stored in memory while less frequently accessed warm data is placed in the extensive store. SAP HANA dynamic tiering is an add-on component, separately licensed, with its own documentation set and listing on the PAM. It uses SAP IQ technology for the extended store and supports native SAP HANA applications but not SAP BW or enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications (SAP S/4HANA). SAP HANA dynamic tiering was introduced with SAP HANA 1.0 SPS 10.

SAP HANA extension nodes enable you to allocate a node (host) of a multiplehost, scale-out (distributed) system as warm data memory store. Extension nodes were introduced with SAP HANA 1.0 specific to SAP BW but are currently also supporting native applications. Other warm and cold data aging solutions specific to SAP BW are nearline storage and the “nonactive data” concept.

Exam Tip: For this topic area, you’re not expected to be intimately familiar with all these data tiering solutions, but you should have a general understanding of what they are and how they are used.

Question 9

Correct answer: C

To perform a comprehensive hardware configuration check, you must run the hardware configuration check tool with the appropriate configuration template files.

Answer A is incorrect because the SAP HANA installer calls the Python script HanaHwCheck.py and exits in case of noncompliance. However, this script only verifies the software prerequisites required for the installation and doesn’t perform a comprehensive check of hardware, network, and storage configurations. Answer B is incorrect because running the hardware configuration check tool isn’t required, and you could opt to perform all the recommendations and requirement check manually, although this isn’t the recommended approach. Answer D is incorrect because SAP strongly recommends using the hardware configuration check as part of an SAP GoingLive Check for SAP HANA, but the tool is freely available for download for every SAP HANA customer and documented in SAP Notes. To use the hardware configuration check tool, the SAP GoingLive Check service isn’t required.

Question 10

Correct answers: BC

SLES and RHEL for SAP solutions are the operating systems supported for the SAP HANA server.

Answer A is incorrect because, although you may find blogs on the SAP Community about how to install SAP HANA, express edition, on Ubuntu, this Linux distribution is only supported for the SAP HANA client. Answer D is incorrect because openSUSE is the open source project for SUSE Linux and Leap at regular release, but there is no “for SAP solutions” edition as this only exists for SLES.

Question 11

Correct answer: A

An internal network zone is used for system replication.

Answer B is incorrect because the storage network zone is only used to communicate between the system and storage subsystems (NAS or SAN) for persistence, log, and backups. Answer C is incorrect because local, global, and internal are valid configurations for the listen interface, but local isn’t a network zone.

Question 12

Correct answer: D

XFS is the recommended file system by SAP.

Answer A is incorrect because the Microsoft Windows NT File System (NTFS) isn’t supported for SAP HANA as SAP HANA is only supported on Linux. Answer B is incorrect because the EXT4 file system isn’t supported. Answer C is incorrect because IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) is a clustered file system supported for SAP HANA.
