SAP Brings Industry Solutions to the Cloud
SAP AG has announced that it plans to bring industry solutions to the cloud by bringing together its unrivaled expertise in industry-specific business processes along with the technical creativity of its international ecosystem and extensive customer base. In order to attain this goal, SAP has created a dedicated Industry Cloud organization, which will be led by Simon Paris. Under this organization the company’s historic industry strength will be used for developing prescriptive, industry-based cloud road maps which will help in simplifying and transforming businesses.
SAP is planning to co-innovate with customers and partners for delivering industry-specific solutions which are expected to rapidly flourish across the 25 industries SAP serves. Under the industry cloud model, partners and customers are projected to co-innovate with SAP on industry cloud offerings. These industry cloud solutions are expected to offer customers specialized, next-generation business processes and intuitive interfaces which can be easily and quickly deployed across a public, private or hybrid cloud infrastructure, depending on which model best meets the customer’s needs. These industry cloud solutions are proposed to run on SAP Cloud powered by SAP HANA using SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, a completely managed, subscription-based cloud service used by customers for running mission-critical SAP applications and managing huge amounts of Big Data all on one real-time business platform.
SAP has already achieved outstanding success in leading the way to the industry cloud model, specially under the below mentioned industries:
1. Chemicals
2. Financial Services
3. Healthcare
4. Higher education and Research
5. Industrial Machinery and Components
6. Professional services
